On November 30th my best girl friend has asked me to be her partner.  This meant I had to take Dillon off as my partner, its ok..I can give him one of my other girls..lol.  [

Its been pretty quiet this weekend.

I did get to spend time with Darron Turner last week.  I really like talking to him.  We have alot in common.  He is busy in RL so isn’t on very often.  He likes giving me cookies 🙂 I think I will demote him from being my uncle.  I like him much better as a friend.

Kitt and Kik aren’t around this weekend and I miss them.  So I am just going around exploring, soaking in the effects of windlight and listening to sappy love songs.

Lepiota

I’m so excited, I own land..and moved my Photography Studio to a place stumbled upon by accident. It is a wonderful spot and I have awesome neighbors 🙂 I did a couple more practice vintage nude portraits, still need to fine tune some areas in hair and photo effects. There is a 1024 parcel nearby that I want badly. I am trying not to look at it so I am not tempted. I’m addicted to real estate now, but maybe its having more prims that I am addicted to.

Hope Floats

What I love to do best in Secondlife is have great talks and laughs with my friends.  Better than shopping for shoes, hair and clothes..better than making anything nifty out of prims.  Just catching up with great people as I float around in this Secondlife.

I am currently finding a new location for my Portrait Studio – Captured.  There have been some changes in where it sits but I have good faith that it will be back up soon.  Kitt has been really busy creating new shapes and remodelling her store.  I have set my home location there in the meantime.  She made me a shape for my newest photo project – doing vintage nudes.  I attempted one with my momma Brenda and it was a nice practice, turned out well.  I hope to find my psp 9 install cd soon because I miss some of the filters it has. 

I have seen my good pal Smackdoobie a couple times this week which was great! He is currently selling his Baramdoli land and has his avi heart set on this mountain side, a perfect place for his cabin.

I have also been talking to my good friend Galen.. My thoughts and well wishes are with her and her fiance Lilith and hoping and awaiting her return to Secondlife. 

Not MIA, just afk…

There was a time where I was totally enwrapped and addicted to online games, namely The Sims Online.  You will hear me talk of this game often because it was the beginning to this madness..lol.  I can safely and proudly say, I’m not AS addicted to Secondlife.  I have been busy in real life lately so I havent been on as much.  Working overtime this week and the one day off I had today, I spent it with David..shopping for our trip.  I did get some game time in today 🙂 Spent some time with Kitt.  We bought some really nice skins from our favorite store Celestial Studios, and bought some hair from HCT..then we checked out this really cool store to get ideas for Halloween Costumes.

I have some ideas for secondlife photography.  I wanted to do some antique nudes, I think thats what Brenda called it.. She is a fan of that style and so it gave me an idea to create the same thing using Avatars.  Ive asked Kitt, with her shape making skills to see what she can come up with.  And in the meantime I will be looking for hair and costume.  I have an awesome idea for a Halloween costume..but while I was looking for the components for that, I found this really cute cupid costume 🙂

I’m not in game at the moment, but have been talking to my friend Jazon on yahoo while he was on, visiting a strip club.  Some of us build, some of us lounge..and some of us look at naked boobies on a pole lol 😛

Dillon Grant

Yes there is an actual Dillon Grant.  He is my real life boyfriend David’s avatar.  When David left his life in Michigan to be with me, his online time was already dwindling.  While all of us play these online games for various reasons, like many..he was in search for his soul mate.  I on the other hand, was in a rl relationship and had no intention on meeting anyone romantically in any game.  After being friends online for a few years our friendship built into a bond and we fell in love.  I have to admit I had a crush on him long before that, we both were in relationships the day we met in The Sims Online.  I remember talking to him via instant message, about life, about relationships and about each other.  He told me he worked as a trucker, which made alot of sense because I would see him online, then he would be gone for a week or two, then a happy glow would be about my face as I saw him pop online again.  He told me about the life as a trucker, how much he didn’t like being away from home so long, and how lonely life is on the road.  And when I felt our friendship was a solid bond that I trusted, before he left for another 3 week run, I told him that I could call him and keep him company sometimes.  I also felt worried because the night before he was supposed to leave, he stayed up all the way til morning to be with me ingame.  So I wanted to make sure he was safe too.  He gave me his number, and I said I would call him sometime.  The very next day I called him…but he was on the road in Chicago and he said that was a hard city to drive a big truck and talk on the phone so he would call me back.  He waited until he reached a truck stop and called me from there.  The first thing I notice was the accent.  And surprisingly soft spoken.  He had a very infectious laugh and it was like we had spoken to each other for a long time..very comfortable, not in the least awkward.  He was telling me about his ride into Chicago as I laid in my bed listening, smiling.  I was turned on by his voice..I started to *ahem* and began to softly hmmm, he asked if I was doing what he thought I was doing and after not answering he began to whisper sweet nothings into my ear.  And blah yes it was over the phone but it was really nice and I felt good..and our bond was closer than ever.  From then there was not one day we wouldn’t talk on the phone.  Our phone bill was insane.  He started asking me to come to Michigan, move out there and I said hellllllll no.  I wasn’t ready for all that yet and had way too much I had to resolve in Hawaii first.  But in August of 2004, the biggest opportunity and really a miracle, a good friend of mine won a trip to California and she called me to see if I would be able to come with her, and two other friends.  I said yes, and David also planned on going to California to meet me in person for the first time.  This would be the moment for me, as wonderful the relationship was online, and over the phone..it was how well we were together in person  that would be the decider for me.  And the moment we saw each other and hugged..I knew. 

After we met, and went back to our own states, we were on the phone talking to each other rather than on the computer playing together. I was still active on tso, he started playing another game called Eveonline.  Kitt told me about Secondlife and I asked if he wanted to try it.  I made his character, named him… and we both did go online together to see our really good friend after so long.  We both had a hard time getting used to functioning on that game so after a week or so, he went back to Eveonline and I went back to TSO.

So for those who see me partnered in Secondlife, it is true.  He is rarely ever in game, and I’m really ok with that.  And for those who have seen a playful, flirtaticious Adriane? He knows how I am and is ok with it.  It is the same as it’s always been for me playing online games.. I am not looking for a relationship, I’ve met my soul mate.  But I also have met a few more in friendship…soul mates…familiar souls, which is what keeps me there.      

Don’t you think….

Don’t you think coming to Secondlife is a great distraction to the real world?  And for just a brief moment when you have so much going on , you just want to be stress free Secondlife?  But because Secondlife mimics real life in so many ways, you can’t seem to avoid it, especially if you are a person who is ever feeling and full of emotion.  So as much as I want to live a care free, stress free secondlife, its near impossible.  I try my best but there are certain entities that don’t allow it.  

For me, it is a mesh of both worlds, and I do respect people who keep their personal lives private.  I love being with all my friends and family but it is the most fun when it doesnt have anything to do with real life.  Alot of people role play..like a good friend of mine Galen.  She has said she is pixels and rarely mentions her human form.  I think that is great.  Adriane Grant is pixels, but her character is based on me.  So that includes moodiness, being silly, wanting to make people laugh and sometimes wanting just to roam around alone.  And if you are ok with that, then you are a friend 🙂    

A day in the life of Adriane Grant

I logged onto Secondlife, and got some offlines which made me laugh. I love my friends so much. I got one from Kitt who told me she sold two of her shapes in her new Store Hellacious Bodies. She is an amazing shape maker, she made my shape and I love it..it has been working out for me lol. It was great news to hear. I get an IM from Kikashi Shakkyo, my best guy friend in SL. He was letting me know he was mapable to me, which made me pleased, we are always hanging out together, so it really didnt make a difference but I was happy anyway. I recently made myself mapable to some. Unfortunately I am not doing much risque business to keep mapping off so my close knit friends and family are able to stalk me if they’d like. And stalk away, I love it. Kik and I was hanging at home and a newbie came in named Rigger. It was his second day. He kept trying to sit near me, or asking me to sit near him. Wanted me to give him a tour of Twilight…wanting to tell me a story of an angel, but first wanted me to wear something white. Kik, the wonderful and hilarious friend he is put him in an invisible orb thingie..and it was fun watching him try to walk and probably wondering why the hell he couldn’t move. lol. I of course was hesitant to any thing Rigger was saying to me. Although in his defense, it wasnt vulgar perverted macking..like I have gotten many times before, he was complimenting my appearance and sort of my scent…. but English is not his first language so “You smell nice” came out “You have an intensive odor” lol. Never been given that line before, I must admit. He left and Kik and I hung out, as we do when we are both online together.. chatting about anything and everything.. He always keeps me laughing, with his uncanny wit and indulges me with stories and scenarios he has found himself in. I will put something seperate of him since he is my bffsss (lol, like in middleschool days when we wrote letters to our friends and signed it from bff (best friends forever) and sss (sorry so sloppy)

Kik logs off at his normal log off time..and i hang out with daddy Jethro til he logs to get back to work. Then later I had a nice conversation with Galen Heron, a wonderful friend and resident of Twilight. She is recently engage and her and her fiance Lilith is planning their wedding in Secondlife. They will be having their wedding ceremony in the Church that Lazlo built, and amazing structure, and a beautiful accent to Twilight. More than an accent, it helps to bring a good vibe to the island. It is always great talking to Galen. She was explaining how some of her xcite stuff works, how the parts work with each other in sexual situations. I have been to xcite before, I even have some attachments from there, but not the actual body parts they are famous for selling. I told her I had contemplated buying a clit, and she offered to help me if I decided to get one. She also gave me some encouraging words about my real life work after she read my personal blog. After Galen went to bed, I went to go hug daddy Jethro goodnight (around 10pm my time) Rigger showed up again, said hello. I introduced him to Jethro and we started to find out more about him. He told us of this multimillion dollar project he is working on developing a city that you could change the enviornment. Immediately I thought, “this guy can’t be serious!” Zenos and Kindi joined us in conversation. Is this guy legit? He gave us the name of the project to search on the web to find out more. And it is true, I mean it showed up on the internet. But still, it all seemed a little far fetched, as far as creating these plans in RL. Secondlife, no problem.. I think if he wants to make a sim reflect his ideas, its very possible with the right Sim developers, scripters and builders. After he left, it was acting silly time. Which is the norm for that hour. It involved flexi penis attachments, dancing cows, standing on each others head and a brotherly kiss *which I told both of them I wouldn’t post on picture the web* However, for a small fee, I can send it to you 🙂 I love my friends. I have some great laughs on SL thanks to all of them. But, that was pretty much it. Nothing too exciting. Just a typical day in Twilight…having fun with friends.

Twilight

I quietly wander the island of Twilight, lush with beauty and enriched with wonderful people who calls this place home. As I reflect, I acknowledge the huge change coming from Baramdoli.  This time I was part owner.  I delved into this role with big ideas and limitless opportunities, it was an exciting time.  My partners – Brenda Goodliffe, who is also my Secondlife mom, Ben Shirakawa, a good friend at the time of Brenda’s, Jaks McGill, and myself.  We brainstormed ideas for an Island Theme, my suggestion being Venice.  We agreed and started planning it out.  We were all so excited, and Jaks started building the Venice Channel where I envioned quaint villas, shops and gondolas.  We also sectioned a personal space for each of us.   Soon after we got the island, we offered a rental spot for Thothica, a community for the love of Arts and Science.  This was a decision made by Brenda and Ben, who were very used to being business partners together.  Jaks and I on the other hand was hesitant, mostly of how much land they were being allowed to rent, and if they would fit in well with our theme.  I think this was the start of many trials and tribulations to come.  One thing wonderful about the addition to Thothica, however, was the introduction of a handful of really great friends.  Over time, we had more tennants, who immediately became friends.  Zenos Zond, who was a main fixture of the Thothica community, and Jethro Brouwer who Brenda met by chance while shopping.  We had more residents come live on Twilight.  Hans (who did not like me very much and the feeling was mutual) Lazlo Yoshikawa a dear man with a huge heart and a fabulous sense of humor, Galen Heron, an interesting and awesome friend I will talk about them both in a seperate blog in the future.  I had started to form a tighter bond with Ben and Jaks.. at the same time we were all realizing how disorganized we were and how often we were in disagreements with Island decisions.  We had too many alphas in the mix, while I simply wanted to create the ultimate place to live in Secondlife.   I noticed that the partnership was affecting our relationships as friends.  It also lead to the departure of Jaks, then not too soon after, Ben.  Now it was just me and my momma…and it was tough.  She was the giving open minded person, while I was very cautious and careful about anything that had to do with Twilight.  We could not find a middle ground, I had grown too stubborn of the vision that I imagined Twilight should be.  When Jaks and Ben left, there was talk of Jethro and Zenos buying into Twilight and becoming new partners.  Though spoke of often, it didnt come to be.  I felt also I was butting heads with Brenda..so much so I decided to bow out of ownership, realizing I was much better as a daughter, than a business partner to Brenda.  She agreed, but worried that I would leave Twilight, which I can honestly say now, I would never do.  Twilight Island is magic.  It has helped to bring a special group of people together.  Or maybe it is Brenda?  Who really is the reason I have such good friends.    She brought them to me 🙂  My best guy friend in Secondlife Brenda met in a class (Kikashi Shakkyo)  Others she met thru Thothica or Dark Life (Luigi Ronzoni, Smackdoobie Eagleburger and Weta Digital. She is like a magnet for finding lovely people.  And again, in due time, I will probably write a seperate blog for each of them 🙂  So currently, Twilight still stands, and even more lush and beautiful than before.  Brenda decided to partner with Lazlo Yoshikawa (her dearest friend) and Jethro Brouwer (her brother, and my dad..lol go figure?)  The partnership is based on land divsion.  Brenda owns 40 % while Lazlo and Jethro each have 30%.  I have been given a little spot to call my own on Daddy Jethro’s land and that brings us up to date with Twilight.  There is alot of changes and I think it is taking form ..and feeling more like home.  Not to mention the big relief of not having to manage or own an island – which became just a little bit too close to real life work.  Through everything that has happened on Twilight the one thing remains contant.  It is home.
